The Town Council have now put the finishing touches to the installation of a pocket park at Rusland Drive. The land was previously a play area for very young children but had aging equipment which had been assessed as having issues and needed replacing. After a consultation with residents the Town Council had the area resurfaced and installed 2 picnic benches, one with wheelchair access and 9 planters all made from 100% recycled plastic. Seasonal plants were put in today by Councillors Ann Thurlow, David Pearson and Neil McDougall but more permanent planting will take place later in Spring. The Town Council hope that this will be a well-used area which can be used for picnics and is safe for children as the area is fenced.
